Quiin Abenakyo Should Be Uganda’s Tourism Ambassador

Quinn Abenakyo

Ms Quiin Abenakyo, the reigning Miss Uganda 2018-2019, has been crowned as Miss World Africa during the recently concluded Miss World beauty pageant in Sanya, China, on December 8.

She is the first Ugandan beauty queen to reach this level. The 22-year-old will not only represent Uganda, but also the entire African continent on the world stage and within just a few days, she has became famous!

Given this success, many Ugandans are calling upon the Uganda’s Tourism Minister to appoint Quiin as a tourism ambassador before other countries can steal the show and appoint her. Agitators of this move say that she is more capable than Zari and more suitable for the job to promote Uganda’s tourism industry as we now have our very own tourism celebrity with instant face recognition on the international scene.

Who is Quinn Abenakyo

Quiin is a 22 Year old Musoga hailing from Eastern Uganda. She was crowned Miss Uganda on 10th August 2018 and late represented Uganda at the Miss World Pageant in Sanya, China. Her remarkable performance at the pageant started about a week back after securing a place in the top 30 at the Miss World finals. This was after beating Miss Argentina in a head-to-head challenge where Abenakyo stated in her presentation that she would use Uganda’s beauty with a purpose to fight teenage pregnancies.

With pet subjects such as fighting teenage pregnancies, Ms Abenakyo’s humility and patriotism were exhibited, especially through a WhatsApp message she sent back home to a Miss Uganda official. “I kept on saying ‘For God and My Country’ Uganda. All I wanted was for God to use me to make Uganda shine.”
